Background
Greenacres Turf Farm is a 400 acre holding located in the foothills suburb of Serpentine. It has built its reputation on quality and service.
Adrian and Peter Pitsikas are co-directors in Greenacres Turf Farm, which they founded in 1989, and between them have accumulated over 40 years experience in turf farming, having been involved with the turf farming industry since its early infancy. Both Adrian and Peter are working directors, and take immense pride in their farm, products and staff.
The Directors
Greenacres Turf Farm has been recognised nationally as innovative leaders in the Turf Production Industry and, because of this recognition, Adrian Pitsikas was offered a position on the Board of Turf Producers Australia. He has also served as President of the Turf Growers Association of WA. Adrian has delivered turf discussion papers to the Golf Superintendents Association of WA and has also sat as a member of the Water & Rivers Commission Water Efficiency Coordination Committee. In addition, Adrian has also sat for the Crop Industries Fly Management working group Agriculture Western Australia, and has also represented the TGA on the steering committee of the University of Western Australia Turf Trials.
Adrian has also served in the formulation of the 'Turf Farming Code of Practice' and Agriculture WA Codes of Practice Horticulture Committee.
Peter Pitsikas has accumulated over 25 years personal experience in commercial turf farming and his skills have been recognized Australia wide and internationally acclaimed, with compliments from international growers, of growing some of the highest grade, quality, warm season grasses in the world.¯ Peter's skills have been sought internationally with extensive travel to Indonesia, in their commitment to set up an internationally competitive turf farm.

Quality Turf Production
Greenacres Turf Farm has over 200 acres of turf in production, 100% of which has been Methyl Bromide fumigated. A substantial financial commitment has been made to the quality of our product with over $1,000,000 being invested in the fumigation program alone (no other farm in Western Australia has made such a commitment to quality and excellence).
Quality Assurance
At Greenacres, we maintain a high standard, and this standard can only be achieved by investing in state-of-the-art irrigation, harvesting, turf maintenance and machinery, and forklift delivery system; all of which is packaged with a specifically designed management strategy second-to-none for excellence.
Turf Maintenance
Turf is maintained to high standards using an array of tractors, high speed rotary mowers, gang tractor mowers as well as grooming mowers.
Clipping removal is obtained by using grooming mowers and vacuum pickups. Thatch is controlled by using Gallagher or Devonson Jahn verge mowers.
Typical mowing heights for finished quality turf product is 8-12mm.
Turf Delivery Systems
Greenacres Turf Farm owns and operates it's own fleet of trucks and forklifts, meaning our service is always of a high standard, unlike some of our competitors who use sub-contractors.
Three fully equipped semi trailers with forklifts (payload of 1100m2 each), are complemented by one 14 tonne and one 5 tonne truck - one with a small trailer capable of delivering 720m2 and 250m2 respectively. An impressive 'in house' delivery capability of 3,170m2 (over ¾ acre) before lunch!
There is also the ability of achieving two deliveries per truck per day.
